What Is the Difference Between Water Pressure and Water Flow?

Water pressure and water flow are 2 terms that are often used interchangeably, even though they don’t mean the same thing. Knowing the differences can help you better understand your plumbing system. Watch this video for a look at the difference.

You can easily measure water pressure with a pressure gauge. This tool will tell you how much pressure is being used to move water throughout your pipes. Water flow describes how quickly the water comes out of the pipes, and it may depend on how many appliances are in use as well as the size of the connecting pipes.
